In order to improve the tractor for the next season, we wanted to test some new parts and settings in Krumbach. Basically it could work, but the fuel settings were much too rich, and we found out that for the new settings, the throttle needs to be opened much earlier.
Even with just only 5 starters in our class, the decision was made for some reason that there is just one attempt. We have been informed just a few minutes before our first pull. So, it was not possible for us to change the settings for a second attempt :-(
Finally, we are very happy to have done a good result in Made!
During the last years we always had big trouble in Made and never pulled more than 30meters.....
Our first pull was a test pull. Because we had no full pull, the jury decided to reset the sled a bit lighter. We dropped down 6th places. Then, a full pull was no problem and we could qualify for the final. We were lucky that there were 20 other competitors, so the engine could cool down enough before we had to pull for a third time. Our pull off run was not bad, but our logger showed that we were missing some 500rpm's. Too much for a Eurocup event.
We finished on a 6th place. It was a nice game in Made and we are looking forward already for Putten.
By the way, we managed to keep our third place in the Eurocup ranking:-)
Finally, our chassis from 2011 has a new owner :-)
We drove down to Bernay without having had time to start the engine at home and check at least if all the damage caused by the backfire in Hassmoor was repaired as it should be...
When we arrived in Bernay, we decided to start up the engine quite early in the afternoon to do the last fuel settings. Everything worked just perfect.
After a short presentation of all the drivers, the 2,5t modified Eurocup started at 18.30 pm. Our first pull was quite fast, an a full pull was no problem for us. 9 Teams could qualify for the pull off.
We managed to set the leading distance in the pull-off to 102,57m. We were only passed by Double Screamin and Black Power. Those guys were pulling in another league with their strong V8's...
Nevertheless, we are more than happy with our 3rd place!
We try to prepare our tractor as good as possible for the next Eurocup event in Made.
Onboard video from the 1st pull in our video section.
After the disaster in Füchtorf, a lot of damage had to be repaired.
Due to the hit, the engine and gearbox advanced about 2 cm to the front end, thus the chassis had to be repaired too. To fix the engine problem, the rear side of the engine had been disassembled up to the crank casing. A new prepared charger casing had been mounted, and everything was checked.
Finally, a cracked diaphragm in the carburator caused the fuel problem.
We were ready just in time for the Hassmoor event. No time left to test the engine at home.
We really like to pull on that tricky and crazy track in Hassmoor...
The engine hooked well, and we could qualify without any problems for the final.
Le Coiffeur opened the battle with 103,97m. We had a good start, but at the end, the engine made a backfire, and we stopped at 98,66m. The fuel setting needs some small adjustments. Finally, Black Power demonstrated that he did a very good winter job and won the game with 107,87m.
Please enjoy the video. Many thanks to Mr.Jo!
Many thanks for the pictures to Schizos's Pulling-Pics!
Although we did a lot of work during the last month, our new engine will not be ready for the Füchtorf event end of april.
Still a lot of work to do and some important parts are still missing, thus we have to run the 2012 engine configuration ...
