Although we got an invitation for the indoor pull in Zwolle, we regret that it was not possible for us to participate this year.
As you can see on the pictures, we have too much work to do this winter, not only on the new transport vehicle, but also some big changes to do on the Roude Léiw junior: a new selfmade reverser should make it easier to change gears than in the past, the alu housings of the planetarys have to be reworked on a CNC machine, the rollcage has to be modified, again the drawbar will be slightly modified, and of course the engine needs some more attention. Not to forget , Piet de Haan is checking our carburator at this moment. Last but not least our truck is sold. The work on the bus went on pretty good. The rear part floor for the tractor is nearly finished, the winch is mounted. Only some paint job and side panels are missing. The rear door still has to be done…..depending on the weather conditions, the bus is standing outside! The original diesel fuel tank had to find a new place just above the front axle, alu water tanks have been welded, all new electric cables as well as water and gas tubes are planned at this moment. Also most of the parts for the living room arrived. After some modifications, a new pvc floor will be installed, then the heating system can be reinstalled again. Lots of wood plates (what a strange kind of material…..) have to be cut and adjusted before the living room will be ready.

And then a lot of detail work to do……

Eurocup 2,5t modified
We appreciate it very much that the 2,5t modified Eurocup class is started this season. Knowing that all three Eurocup pulls in the 2,5t modified class are more or less in the beginning of the season, we are pretty shure at this moment that our new transport bus will not be ready for the beginning of the outdoor season 2007, therefore we decided not to subscribe our tractor for the Eurocup circuit. Nevertheless we are looking forward to participate the Eurocup circuit in 2008!
We also regret that in 2007, the promoter SI Bettborn did not agree with the LTPF to run the 2,5t modified Eurocup class due to their financial situation.(the 2,5t modified Luxembourg trophy is planned to be run as usual…) We still hope that in 2008, the 2,5t Eurocup class will also be on the Bettborn time schedule.

First of all we want to congratulate the promotors for their event. Especially the track was in top condition, maybe the best one in Europe for the moment.
The Roude Léiw junior was the first one to qualify for the pull off in the 2,5t modified. It was an indescribable feeling after the Full Pull to hear all the Roude Léiw fans! This makes it really worth to work hard for putting a tractor on the track. But even during the Full Pull the engine was not running perfect. Again the fuel system worked not as it should. Same problem in the Pull Off. For a short moment, the engine rpm dropped down so much that even the clutch opened. So the tractor stopped at 76,10 m. Roude Léiw junior finished on the 4th place, just some 7 meters behind the winning distance…. But it was nice to see Herbie, another Curtiss Wright powered tractor winning the Bettborn event.
Nevertheless we were happy that again the complete driveline and chassis of our junior worked perfect. But as Bettborn is our last race before winter time, we really wanted to know the reason of the engine problem. Immediately after the 2,5t modified class, we started to check some valves out of the fuel system. Everything seemed to be ok so far.
Spontaneous, the Herbie team offered us her fuel pump to test with. So we decided to run a test pull in the 3,5t modified. Unfortunately the same problem occurred. At least we know that our fuel pump is ok. Many thanks to the Herbie Team!
